Out with the old....

One of my projects this year is to be the general contractor for our kitchen remodel.  Let's just say I've already made quite a few mistakes, but learned a lot.  Here is phase 1...new appliances.  They are such a welcome replacement of our old, off-white appliances that were noisy and didn't work well.  I love how sleek the stainless steel is...and cooking on a gas stove is amazing!
Just look at that old beauty!  One of the burners didn't work and it was time to go!

Hello pretty.
Some day I will have a macro lens to make these kind of shots look super cool.  One thing at a time.
Is it wrong to love an appliance?

Winter blues...

With winter in full swing, summer seems like a fleeting memory.  I thought I'd bring it back with a few pictures I snapped last summer.

Holiday Bokeh

I was quite inspired by the Pioneer Woman's latest photography assignment: Holiday Bokeh.  I took the opportunity to snap some photos of my own holiday decorations, with the bokeh theme in mind.  Let me know what you think!

This isn't my favorite of the bunch, but I still love it because it is a picture of a 70 year old Christmas ornament given to me by a wonderful woman named Scoter.

I have a good collection of these little adorable angels that belonged to my grandmother.

Another special item- I copy of a Christmas Carol from the 1920's given to me by my grandmother.

My favorite of the bunch- I made this little penguin last year when I learned how to needle felt.

Winter's arrival

In a matter of a few short weeks, winter arrived...we have had a record snowfall for November.  It is easy to get frustrated with the shoveling and driving hassles, but then you just have to take a minute to look around...
